Magic Planet - first digital video globe in Austria

The Magic Planet is a digital video globe that shows pictures, videos or animations using a spherical screen. As distributor of the Californian Company Global Imagination eoVision delivered the first Magic Planet in Austria.

In addition to providing hard- and software of the Magic Planet, eoVision was responsible for digital contents by creating animations. Currently the digital globe is part of a special exhibition on biodiversity in the natural science museum "Haus der Natur" in Salzburg. For this exhibition eoVision produced maps and animations covering different aspects of biodiversity:

• Biomes – living spaces on Earth
• Seasonal changes and migration of animal species
• Hotspots of biodiversity
• Man conquers the Earth
• The human influence
• Red lists and protected areas

The Magic Planet has been installed by the "Haus der Natur" in a way that gives visitors of the exhibition control over the animations.
